Backing Up Your Data

  • Initially, make sure that you have installed the BaseCamp tool on your computer.
  • Next, create a location on your computer to save the backup files.
  • Connect the Garmin device to your computer (if it is not connected).
  • Now, open the BaseCamp tool.
  • On the main screen of the tool, choose your device.
  • Now, the files stored on the device will be displayed on the screen.
  • Locate the files you prefer to back up and use the drag/drop or right-click option to back up the files.
  • After creating the backup, you can reset the Garmin eTrex device.

Restoring Garmin eTrex Device

  • Initially, turn off the Garmin eTrex device if it is turned on.
  • Locate the Menu and Enter buttons on your device and press them simultaneously.
  • Press and release your device’s Light/Power button while holding down the Menu and Enter buttons.
  • As soon as the following message appears on the screen, “Do you really want to erase all user data?”, release both the buttons (Menu and Enter).
  • Now, continue the reset process by pressing the Yes button.
  • Once the device settings are restored, re-configure them from the beginning.
