Basically, GPS uses the satellite's signal to find the current location of your device. It might take up to 15 to 30 minutes to collect the information. To reduce the time duration, some brands like Garmin access their devices through the Internet, thus helping in receiving the information easily and quickly.

Garmin uses CPE (Connected Predictive Ephemeris) to assist in providing information about the trajectories of its devices. So, Garmin’s assist CPE should work for you to receive the GPS data correctly. For that, first, you need to make sure that your phone that is synced with the watch is connected to an active Internet service. Next, the most important thing is that you have to make sure that the CPE file installed is up-to-date. If this file is expired or outdated, then the GPS signal may not work properly. To check the status of the CPE file, follow the below instructions.

Garmin Forerunner 45 Gps Not Working
  • Open your Garmin Forerunner 45 device’s menu screen by long-pressing the Middle button.
  • Select Info > Device ID > CPE Status. If the status is displayed as CPE expired, update it, and then try to locate the GPS signal.
  • To update the CPE file, run Garmin Express on your computer. After running it, connect the watch to the PC using the USB cable. Now, the CPE file update process will be initiated automatically.
  • Once the update is done, check whether the Garmin Forerunner 45 GPS not working issue is resolved.
